Japandroids - Post-Nothing This album hit me just right in 2009.  I think a lot of lo-fi/garage-type bands these days are trying too hard to engineer a specific sound and style, but not Japandroids.  As they blast out catchy riffs using little more than drums and a distorted guitar, I get the impression that they are genuinely having fun as they play.  The ‘don’t-give-a-fuck’ attitude makes their music entertaining and exciting in a way that few albums have in recent memory.  This duo made one of, if not my favorite album of the year, let’s hope they go back and record in the garage soon.
