Fun. - Aim and Ignite
Thanks to a trip to the Midwest for the holidays and a broken power cable to my computer, my top 5 albums of 2009 has been slightly delayed.  I am starting off with Nate Ruess’s (of The Format fame) new project, Fun.  Much like his previous work with Sam Means, this is pure unabashed pop music.  It covers the gambit from simple acoustic scores to sweeping orchestra-accompanied operas.  I know it may sound cliched but the album really is, well, fun.  This is hopefully just another notch in the belt of Nate’s musical career, but he has yet to disappoint me.  I highly recommend giving this album a whirl if you want to smile and sing-a-long with one of 2009’s best.
