Local Natives - Gorilla Manor
These guys not only earned a top 5 spot on my list this year but also win the distinction of having the year’s best debut album.  Armed with slick harmonies and an ambitious sound, these LA boys are for real.  They seamlessly transition between raw and eclectic, their songs often starting soft and sweet before rising to an anthemic chant-a-long crescendo.  They’ll draw a lot of comparisons to Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear for obvious reasons but they’re too busy carving their own niche to really care.
You gotta hear: Wide Eyes, Airplane, Warning Sign
