And so it begins…the annual Fox In Stereo top music picks for 2010. I don’t think I’ve ever used a consistent format in the past but at least for this year I’ll give my top 5 singles then top 5 albums. I’m sure a few of the choices may be head-scratchers or seem completely random to all you internet folks out there, but if you know me at all you’ll know that’s me all over. So, much to the chagrin of Dave, let’s get started!
I’m beginning my top singles list with The Curse by Josh Ritter. I liked this song, it was a beautifully bare song and lyrically gorgeous. But I think what made me love it was the puppeteered video that was made for it. I feel like very few videos can be literal interpretations of the lyrics but with a song like The Curse, which is more of a narrative put to music, it takes the song to a higher, more emotional level.
